2013 looks to be a year full of new growth through expansion into new territories, returning to fertile grounds well visited and continuing to hone my natural ability to let go. i keep thinking on the metabolism of our cells, the cyclic rhythm of expansion and condensing. how those remarkably smart cells get just what they need in precisely the proper amounts at exactly the right times. this applies to healthy cells of all sorts, but in particular i've lately been reading about the circulatory system in Myers' Anatomy Trains, and how communities of cells coordinate their actions to deliver the exact combinations of hormones to specific cells in specific sites of the tissues. this is fascinating in and of itself, especially when you consider the magnitude, the human body consists of anywhere from 50-300 TRILLION specialized cells.. but almost more interesting to me is their innate ability to let go. with every pulse of our system all of our cells are "exhaling;" they release what is no longer needed/useful, what would otherwise be toxic to their survival. so simple, elegant and yet truly remarkable, brilliant! if only we were as smart as our cells more of the time..
I am SO excited and honored to be assisting the coming ytt200 at Yoga Center Amherst, a place dear to my heart and central in my continuing development as a student and teacher. This begins in March and spans 9 long, luxurious months, a pregnancy in its own right! I know i will come out of this experience a changed woman and am already counting this as a blessing.
I will also be working more on writing (here and elsewhere), leading more workshops, studying with fantastic teachers, formulating a Prenatal Teacher Training course and a few media projects this coming year. PHEW! With all opportunities come changes, and with all beginnings, ends. I will be teaching regular studio classes less than i expected this coming year - which is hard to fully accept as i always want to do it all - but i am appreciative of the fact that i must let some things go in order to move more fully into my potential and my aspirations. I AM FULL OF IDEAS these days and really need the outlet, which is perfect timing as being home with my babe as much as possible is also what i need :)
I will still be available for privates and series (schedule permitting) as well as workshops, so don't hesitate to contact me on these and you can still catch me on M & W mornings at Back Bay.
peace. shanti, shanti, shanti. om
